Violet has become a dear friend and when she asked me to be there to capture her husbands homecoming, I was over the moon! I had briefly met her husband Phil before he deployed but it had been a long 5+ months of him being gone. The weather was perfect and the buzz of anticipation at the hanger was electric! So many families eagerly awaiting their loved ones made for an emotional afternoon. The marines arrived by the busload, lined up for dismissal, and then it was mayhem as people ran to reunite! It took what felt like ages for Violet to spot Phil in the crowd but as soon as she saw him she took off running! I loved getting to be a part of and capture such a special moment for Phil and Violet!
